Job creation and social enterprise transform lives, endorse the authenticity of God's love and concern for the quality of daily life of his children, and provide us an opportunity to build spiritual relationships. We are committed to providing jobs that pay dignified wages in employment-deprived communities. Families and communities with a sustainable income can anticipate a bright future as well as play an active role in the continued development of their own family members, congregation, and community.
Our social enterprises in Honduras demonstrate our commitment to create new job opportunities in a region where gainful employment is scarce, as well as our ongoing desire to generate a greater percentage of our operations budget internally. Currently, our coffee farm, ranch, artisan shop, hotel and restaurant, among others, generate 25% of our budget.
Our social enterprise in Haiti is only just beginning. And while the beginning is small with a modest line of Haitian leather products, the impact is already significant, and we are growing.
