Family connectedness is a major indicator of the present and future success of its members socially and financially. Strong families demonstrate a greater ability to "bounce back" from hardships. We provide resources, education, counseling, and direct care to increase family resilience and provide sustainable strategies to improve quality of family life that increase the likelihood that families stay together. We also care for vulnerable children who require removal from their home due to abuse, neglect, or the death of their parents.
Our Refuge is a community of homes which approximate a family environment with an emphasis on consistency, routine, and supervision. We honor each child’s story, trusting in God’s power to heal wounds and redeem every situation. In the home, caregivers act as role models so that all family members can practice and internalize life skills and can experience stability and belonging. We believe in holistic caregiving because every child deserves an environment that nurtures his mind, body, and soul, and because every child should experience what it means to be cherished.
Our evangelists engage with families in their communities by providing counseling and supportive services, and they love people inside and outside of the church through home visits, seminars, and curricula for individual, small group, and congregational Bible study.
